The idea of distance and being distant can be hard sometimes because some of us may not understand the ability to be alone or be social suddenly, but having to set boundaries. During this time of Covid-19, many of us may be taking the necessary precautions, while others may not want to become distant from an individual, let alone reality. We may be subjected or entitled to want the never-ending being of our social circles. We want more closure with people that we see in society, and we want more freedom because Covid-19 probably had a lot of us on edge. When seeing how the distance emerged with Covid-19, I have noticed how the distance had either negatively impacted some of us while positively making a huge difference. However, what worries me the most is how many of us may have become distant, physically, mentally, and emotionally. The distance caused withdrawn from our physical surroundings and environment and impacted the way we think, see, express, and gather ourselves. Some of us wish and find virtual social groups because we know how it feels to be kept in the dark, to feel so distant that our physical and mental does not even correspond with one another. We know how some of us may have fought and worked during this pandemic, some even hustling their own piece of work, yet not realizing that sometimes we need a break. A break is not wanted, but it is needed. Here is why we need a break.

According to Mason Stevenson, a survey was conducted with more than 7,500 full-time employees, where 23% felt burned out in their work. However, what is an employee or job burnout? When a person feels depressed or in so much of a stressful situation or work-related situation, their work drastically declines. They are in a mental state where they are unmotivated, cannot concentrate, lack energy, and feel "draggy". Unfortunately, I am not a psychologist -not yet at least- so I can explain this in the best way possible from my experience in taking my classes and further research that I have done, and what I know from my experience is that when you do not give your mind, body, and soul a break, it will take a break on its own. Your body can slowly tell you that it is time to stop consistently worrying about work, worrying about this pandemic, worrying about losing your job, worrying about your next meal, or worrying if you may even have a place to stay. It is time for that break. It is time for your mind to rest, so your body can rest. It is time for you to get some sleep, exercise, meditate, or maybe even seek help or confide in someone you trust because as this pandemic is bigger than many of us, the least we can do is take control of what we can.
