Don't fight a battle if you don't gain anything from winning
-Erwin Rommel
Are you fighting a battle worth fighting for? Are you fighting the good fight? Sometimes when we fight wars and face our obstacles, some feel as though we become the waste in the drainage. We become more aware of fighting a fight for others, but what about fighting for us? What about going through the plagues of darkness, the ultimate appearance of a dead heart or soul? What if fighting the battle you are facing seems more of another person's battle than yours? It appears as if you believe this fight should be for someone else and not you. Here is where integrity, push, and acceptance comes in:
Integrity is an all-time being of moral acceptance! You understand that you are fighting a battle that was not made for you but others, so this can teach you how to accept challenges outside of the norm. You are more aware of being honest with yourself and how to face those battles. It takes a lot of integrity and self-awareness to fight battles that are both for you and someone else because you have to remember:
Integrity
Choosing coverage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy, and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them.
-Brené Brown
Then there is push... The determination to get through the battle; you have already accepted it whether it was for you or not, or whether you feel like it was made for someone else, you still received the battle. Without acceptance, it is like going into a situation blindsided. Nevertheless, then the push is almost the same. You do not know what will happen within the process, but you know your goal at the finish line. Everything that is thrown at you on the battlefield is unexpected, so what do you do?
Acceptance... Again
You fully understand that battles come with unforeseen circumstances and that the end goal is what truly matters. You are finally at the finish line, and the battle is over—you have gratitude for all of the unforeseen circumstances; you are grateful for the fight.
Whenever you feel obligated to face something, in fear of doing something, or you question what a situation might bring, all you need is a push- A push to have faith and inspiration to face the battle for others and a motivation to not only believe in yourself but believe in what you want to do and where you want to be. Writers sometimes have a fear of not knowing what to say and to finish what they have started. They have a constant battle with themselves because words can be so influential and reflective of other people’s opinions and obligations; it is scary to be in a war that’s for you and others, yet will you push through that battle? You might be fearful of not having a push, yet you have an obligation to yourself to do just that. Everyone will always have an opinion, but you will still fight beyond extraordinary measures. Seek a push, and drift away from the fear.
